This is a rant entry on my used-to-be-favorite delivery restaurant, Thai To Go. I placed an order on the 1st of May which was May Day, a public holiday, and was so happy that they were open for business. Well the $66 I spent wasted could've been put to better use at McDelivery.com.
1. I ordered Deep Fried 3 Flavored Tofu but somehow the order was changed to Sweet and Sour Sauce Tofu.
2. Both Pad Thai Beef and Chicken had a chunk of chilli flakes in them though I specially requested and repeated thrice for no chilli because Darren is deathly allergic to it.
So when I made a call to the restaurant, I spoke to a lady first who then transferred to another lady, who then transferred to another lady, who then... Yes you get the idea. Only the 4th lady I spoke to was the one who actually took my order and I swear she had this very challenging tone when I told her my order was wrong.
She lectured me saying, "Cannot be that you ordered the deep fried one because I repeated your order TWICE and you were okay with it, so it CANNOT be that the order is wrong. You said okay when I repeated your order. It can't be wrong. Then for your Pad Thai the receipt states no chilli but your order has chilli is it? The best I can do is give you a $10 voucher for your next order."
IS THAT THE WAY TO SPEAK TO A CUSTOMER?!???!!! WHAT'S WITH THE STRICT AND ACCUSATORY TONE?!?!??? I was seriously fuming because how do you argue based on something that was heard. Plus I must add that I don't think she was paying very close attention when I gave her my order because I had to repeat myself so many times. And I did not hear Sweet and Sour Sauce Tofu at all.
This will be the last time I'm ordering from them. Have ordered from them about 4x in total and to think every time I order it's always $50-$90 that I spend and this is the service I get in return?! I'm not one of those anal customers who expect first class service when I'm only paying that amount, but as someone with about 4 years of experience in the service line, I expect basic courtesy and manners when it comes to customer service!
Ugh, needless to say it was a meal I did not enjoy so the next time you want to order from them, think twice for your money's sake.
